The 3M Particulate Filter 2097 is NIOSH approved for environments containing certain oil and non-oil based particles. 3M recommended for nuisance level organic vapour relief and for ozone protection up to 10X OSHA PEL.

  • 3M Particulate Filter 2097 with nuisance level organic vapour relief helps provide respiratory protection against exposure to lead, asbestos, cadmium, arsenic, and MDA. The filter is effective for concentrations up to 10 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) with half facepieces, or 50 times PEL with quantitatively fit tested full facepieces. This filter helps protect against a wide range of oil and non-oil based particulate contaminants. The filter also offers nuisance level odour relief from organic vapours that are below the PEL. Nuisance level refers to concentrations not exceeding OSHA PEL or other applicable government exposure limits, whichever is lower. Do not use for respiratory protection against organic vapours or in environments that are Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH). The 2097 is commonly used for welding, brazing, torch cutting, metal pouring and soldering. Inventory needs and training requirements of safety equipment are reduced because this filter works for many different applications. The filter is both flame and water resistant. This filter is commonly used in the following industries: agriculture, construction, general manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, primary metals.

    Works well and eliminates some odors.Always buy from amazon.ca or reputable dealer. The real filters are 12-14g in weight and have activated carbon inside.The fake filters are ~6g and a very thin paper carbon layer.

    With all of the forest fire smoke we had this year in Vancouver, I wanted to improve the filters that I had in my mask to reduce the smell. I’m asthmatic and I’m allergic to certain trees. Their smoke makes it very hard for me to breathe when I’m out walking the dog. This mask not only blocks the smoke particulates but with the charcoal, it also blocks the smell nicely too. Also works nicely to block the pollen from the trees in the spring. I may look like “Walter White” while walking my dog, but I can breathe.

    I use these with the appropriate respirator primarily for spray painting household items and doing crafts. I was so pleased to find them on Amazon, especially after a shortage during COVID-19. They are a staple in my workshop!

    I was touching up a tractor in my garage last week and the fumes were really strong, that’s when I remembered that had I ordered a mask with these filters some time ago to use when I get around to painting the interior of my house. They really worked well and they practically eliminated all the fumes. I highly recommend them.

    I’m sure that the effectiveness of these filters is what 3M claims it to be as they’re a reputable brand.The reason I’m writing this review is to say that I am extremely impressed with how these filters remove any offensive odours. I’m currently refinishing a table and I bought these to protect myself from the fumes from the heated/burned paint. When I took the respirator off, I was immediately hit with a permeating disgusting smell that I was all but aware of during the process.

    Had a really challenging mould situation – couldn’t last but a few minutes in the work space with regular N95 masks – but with these on it was not a problem. They work really well and I don’t get hot working with this on. Be safe – get this if you need to work in challenging environment.

    I was so elated when I was able to get this filter. I’m a frontline workers and my institutions PPE are extremely limited…literally we have to keep our n95s for 8 weeks. So as someone who takes care of Covid-19 patients having the ability to purchase my own PPE is essential. It’s so disheartening to see my fellow comrades coming becoming covids positive because they don’t have adequate PPE. I was trying to buy also PPE for.my co-workers a couple items at a time so not to deplete the system but now we have to rely on our management to get the PPE…and they choose to wait for the government stockpile versus just buy what’s available on a site such as this. So thank you for allowing me 30 more days of safety while I take care of my patients

    I can buy three pairs of these for the same cost as a different brand of P100 filters at a retail store. Normally I would prefer to buy local, but the price difference is too great.These filters seem to work well. They’re easy to replace on the 3M mask, and I like how light they are compared to some that are larger and are basically a plastic cup with a filter glued in. Air can come in from both sides of this filter. Great for working in the attic!

    Fits perfectly on my 3M Ultimate full face mask. Anyone not familiar with the product should be aware it has an expiration or “best before” date that may range in a year or two, or possibly three from now. It says what the expiration is on the package itself. Easy to install, requires just a quarter turn. Make sure it clicks because if it doesn’t then it can fall off unexpectedly.

    I have been using these filters along with the 3M™ Quick Latch Rugged Comfort Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator 6502QL for over a month now and I can honestly say this setup is a complete game changer. I am woodworking in an enclosed 2 car garage for hours on end creating massive amounts of sawdust in the air. I can wear the mask for the whole day without any discomfort. It’s not too tight on the nose, doesn’t irritate my skin at all. It filters the air so well that I go hours without smelling a single thing. I have tried other respirators / face masks and I can tell you I wouldn’t be able to continue my passion if it wasn’t for this respirator and filter. It works so well I would recommend it to anyone over anything. Thank you 3M.
